Press Release
Jacada Customer, U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command,
Honored with CIO Magazine Award
ATLANTA, August 17, 2004 – Jacada Ltd. (NASDAQ: JCDA) is pleased to announce its customer, United States Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), has been honored with CIO Magazine's "CIO 100 Award" for business agility innovation. NAVFAC employs 14,000 civilian and military personnel to manage the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of shore facilities for U.S. Navy and Marine Corps activities around the world.
Selected from over 300 companies, organizations, and government agencies, CIO Magazine cited NAVFAC for the positive effect that IT agility has had on their enterprise. With major demands on today's military, including the War on Terrorism, the Chief of Naval Operations initiated a program, "Sea Enterprise," to streamline support functions and leverage the savings to build more ships and aircraft.
In achieving its recognition, NAVFAC consolidated over 500 local applications to 14 global systems in a successful effort to lower system costs and improve enterprise agility. As a result of the systems consolidation, NAVFAC was able to radically improve the contracts administration process by using Jacada Fusion to automate the interface between two "untouchable" systems that manage over $6 billion in annual contract awards and process tens of thousands of contract actions annually.
NAVFAC used Jacada's technology to solve one of the biggest challenges faced by most senior IT managers: how to optimize business processes and streamline operations, while protecting existing investments in information and infrastructure. Before Jacada Fusion, the solicitation, award and modification of contracts required users to enter the same information manually multiple times into separate systems. Using Jacada Fusion, for the first time these contract management transactions are automated and the data is integrated across these systems. NAVFAC had been searching for a low-cost, low-risk solution and found Jacada had a compelling answer for all of their disparate systems – mainframe, Web, and Windows.
Jacada Fusion delivers 'The Perfect Interaction' between people, processes and information, and eliminates the problems that arise from maintaining multiple complex applications, such as corporate-wide CRM systems, in-house developed programs, and those inherited through acquisition. Jacada Fusion rapidly improves business processes without rewriting or replacing the underlying applications, thus achieving significant payback and performance results.
